This medium-bodied wine showcases a gorgeous array of dark red fruits with aromas of fresh strawberries, grenadine and raspberry jam. Lush cherries and strawberry preserves fill the palate with silky tannins and a lingering, smooth finish.
100% Estate Grown
Hand harvested from our estate vineyard at optimal ripeness, our Grenache was combined with 25% whole clusters still on the stems, and 75% destemmed grapes but not crushed. After a 48-hour cold soak, the wine was warmed up and allowed to ferment as a wild ferment, meaning the grapes own native yeasts. Aggressive extraction up front that consisted of 2-3 pump overs per day, plus a delastage. A delastage is during fermentation, all the juice is separated from the skins then added back to skins. These techniques allow for optimal structure and mouthfeel of the wine and allows the grapes varietal to be expressed. Towards the end of alcoholic fermentation, pump overs were backed off as to not over extract this very delicate grape. After fermentation the wine was sent to several types of vessels ranging in size from 500L barrels to 225L barrels with a total of 15% new French Oak. Aged for 18 months.
